Happy Thanksgiving and Army/Navy Tailgate Announcement

Hello Class of ’85 and Happy Thanksgiving!!

First off, My wife and I wish all of you and your families the Happiest of Thanksgivings and hope you get to spend it with your families and extended families eating large amounts of your favorite comfort foods and watching lots of football. Speaking of FOOTBALL! I am sure we will all be watching those amazing Mids this Friday (11/27) at noon EST as they secure the AAC West Conference Title and a home game for the AAC Championship Game on December 5th. If that is the case, ’85 will have news on our tailgate for that game. I am also very happy to announce the final plans for our 5th “almost annual” Indoor Tailgate Party for this year’s Army/Navy game on Saturday December 12th. We will once again be at the Stadium Sports Bar inside the Holiday Inn Philadelphia located at 900 Packer Ave.; the website of the hotel is: http://www.hiphilly.com.

The party starts at 11:30 am on Dec. 12th and includes the following for a $30 per person cover charge collected at the door (game starts at 1500):

Make your own Philly Cheesesteaks, Chicken wings, Mozzarella Sticks,  French fries, Cole Slaw and Nonalcoholic beverages (inclusive per person). There will be special pricing for domestic beers, house wines and well drinks and that will all be on a cash bar basis with each person or party running their own bar tab. Kids 12 and under are $10.00. Pay at the door as you enter. The Food Buffet will run from 11:30-14:30, it is a pay at door event with the bar taking cash or credit cards and with wrist bands being issued to our group. Drink specials are good for before and after the game, so for those returning to the bar to celebrate and warm up after we trounce the Black Knights, you can do so (and sing Navy Blue and Gold if you leave the game early). Parking is available at the Holiday Inn Parking lot for $30 and it is about a 12 minute walk to the Field from the bar.

So, if you can, please email me if you are planning to attend so I can get an approximate head count to our hosts. Come READY to enjoy a full day of GREAT fun with your classmates and another victory over our rivalry from up on the Hudson. My email: robertsmith5@att.net and my phone number for questions is: 502-432-6185. I will be there and look forward to many of you again in Philly!! Cheers and enjoy your Turkey Day and Go Navy BEAT HOUSTON!!  Bob Smith ’85

PS: I do not have tickets for the game but as in past years, there is ALWAYS an ample supply that weekend or that day as brokers buy up a huge block and then try and sell them last minute outside the venue. That is how I plan on buying my tickets this year.
